Write a county research brief
Use FIPS, source dates and a bounded question to define a repeatable public-data research task.
Choose the geography
Use the five-digit FIPS code from the county directory. Keep it as text and record the source vintage. County names can repeat across states, and county-equivalent boundaries can change over time.
Define the research output
Ask for a report that cites each source and separates observed facts from assumptions. Population and land area can frame the geography, but they do not establish qualified buyers, connected property records or local service availability.
Keep actions scoped
Start with approved public reads and a reviewable report. Any later sending, publication or account modification should follow the sponsor’s stated policy.
